It’s hard to believe this year is moving so fast, but Mother’s Day is already just around the corner on Sunday, May 14. We will once again be offering beautiful live carnations on Mother’s Day weekend. We do have a limited supply of fake carnations as well. If you prefer the fake carnations in the past, you may order them on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. You will find the 2023 Mother’s Day order form in these Church Notes. Please fill out and return the form in person, via mail, or call your order into our office by Tuesday, April 18. The live carnations will be delivered fresh to our office on the morning of Saturday, May 13, and available for pick-up from 9 am-12 pm. If necessary, call for any special arrangements for flower pick-up.
Please join us and invite all your pro-life friends to LIFESPAN’s 2023 Silent Auction and Dinner on Tuesday, May 9 at the San Marino Club in Troy. The month of May will again become the permanent home for this annual event after the last couple were in October due to the pandemic in 2021 and the election in 2022. The night’s theme is “Lost Fatherhood…A Pro-Life Journey with Jason Jones.” Jason produces pro-life films including the popular movie Bella and hosts the Jason Jones Show podcast. The Silent Auction opens at 5:30 pm with Dinner at 7:15 pm. Attendance at the dinner is once again free, while we thank you in advance for your generous auction bids and donations to help LIFESPAN defend all life from conception until natural death. LIFESPAN’s Be The Change pro-life training session was canceled on Friday, March 3due to the snowstorm that afternoon and again on Saturday, March 4 due to a power outage at the host church. It is wonderful news that we can announce that Be the Change has been rescheduled for Friday, April 28 from 4-8 pm and Saturday, April 29 from 10 am-2 pm. The Saturday event takes place at Auburn Hills Christian Church, while the Friday event is still to be finalized, but will most likely be moved to the campus of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Allen Park. Trevor Pollo of Protect Life Michigan and Bryan Kemper of Priests for Life will speak at Be the Change and we will serve a pizza meal to all attendees. The event primarily aims to equip 7th-12th grade students, teachers, campus ministers, and catechists to be effective and informed advocates for the preborn, but all ages are welcome.
A special thank you to all who coordinated, donated or volunteered to work at your church for LIFESPAN’s 34th Annual Baby Shower on the weekend of March 11-12. Your generous gifts of baby items, gift cards, money, and time are much appreciated by our local pregnancy center partners!!!
