Hello Pro-life Heroes,

First and foremost, PRAY FOR OHIO!!! Unfortunately, the abortionists won the first round on August 8, making it easy to change the State Constitution this November. On November 7, Ohio will now vote on a radical, no-limits abortion amendment similar to Michigan’s Proposal 3. If it passes, Ohio will follow Michigan and name the slaughter of the preborn a “right”  in the Ohio State Constitution.

I hope many of you can attend a local commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children on Saturday, September 9. LIFESPAN holds a solemn gravesite ceremony at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy at 1 pm. Hope to see many of you there. This is advertised in the church notes for September 2-3, Labor Day weekend, which appeared in the August church notes.

Hopefully, many of your churches are sponsoring a site for the 2023 Life Chain on the afternoon of Sunday, October 1. We are constantly adding new Life Chain locations in the area, so please contact Chris Hansen at the LIFESPAN Main Office at 734-524-0162 if your church is interested in sponsoring a new location in your community. If you want to join an existing location to pray and witness, please check our website https://milifespan.org for the most current listing of participating locations and times. We have Life Chain signs available to borrow at our Wayne Chapter office, so call or e-mail Pam at 734-422-6230 or wcdr@rtl-lifespan.org to reserve or pick up signs for your location.

Continue Respect Life Month in October by bringing your family and friends to the 2023 CIDER Walk for Life on Saturday, October 7 from 1-3 pm at St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church in Livonia. It is essential that you advertise with the included flier and push this powerful opportunity to give witness to life in your faith community, especially families and the youth! Participants gather pledges or donate to LIFESPAN’s educational efforts and receive a CIDER Walk t-shirt, cup, cider, doughnuts, and camaraderie. This is the perfect pro-life event for families with children. The actual walk begins and ends at St. Rafka and loops past the Livonia Planned Parenthood abortion mill in between. The event is peaceful and non-adversarial while giving public witness to the sanctity of human life.

Please see the Youth flier and church note for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 to help our new Youth Director Kathryn Priddy advertise the upcoming Autumn Sidewalk Chalk Day on Tuesday, October 3 and National Pro-Life Cupcake Day on Monday, October 9.

Finally, the headline event for October is the 2023 Pro-Life Legislative Luncheon on Saturday, October 28. This year’s Luncheon will take place at Burton Manor in Livonia. Doors open at 9:30 am and the program begins at 10 am. International pro-life icon Frank Pavone headlines the event and we expect tickets to go fast. Early Bird tickets are available now for $35. Please download the registration form at https://milifespan.org and send it in (postmarked) by September 15 or call Pam at the office at 734-422-6230. After September 15, general tickets are $40 while space remains. Spread the good news!
