Father’s Day is Sunday, June 18 and we will be offering the traditional Chocolate Bars. The Father’s Day order form is included in these Church Notes. Please place orders no later than Thursday, June 1. Orders may be picked up at the Chapter Office during our business hours in June as soon as our vendor delivers the chocolate. Call Pam at the office at 734-422-6230 to order or with any questions about Father’s Day chocolates.
Plan to join and encourage others to join LIFESPAN for the 3rd Annual Motor City Caravan for Life on Saturday, June 24! The 2023 Caravan will have the traditional starting point in Royal Oak, then proceed down Woodward Ave. to Campus Martius. We hope to add a second starting point in Wayne County proceeding down Michigan Ave. to Campus Martius and then converging along Gratiot Ave to the ending point at Assumption Grotto Church and Cemetery. If you have a suggestion for a church on or in the vicinity of Michigan Ave. that may be willing to host the start of this satellite Caravan in their parking lot, please contact Tim at tpruse@milifespan.org ASAP!
UPDATE: We have great news! We have found a Wayne-West location for the Motor City Caravan at ST. MARY’S PARISH in Wayne!!!
Another special thank you to all who attended the 2023 Celebration of Life Silent Auction and Dinner on Tuesday, May 9. An impressive showing of 460 guests graced us with their presence at the San Marino Club. Awaiting full results, anecdotally the Silent Auction seems to have very successfully garnered increased generosity this year. It was also probably the best structured and smoothest running Celebration of Life Dinner we have hosted, at least in recent memory. Our speaker Jason Jones was tremendous, providing a powerful personal story of his first daughter lost to abortion and subsequent pro-life advocacy and an overpowering call for us to love, serve, and protect the most vulnerable members of the human family. Most of us only knew of Jason as a producer of the movie Bella, but he introduced all of us to the Vulnerable People Project, his pro-life international human rights advocacy non-profit (http://vulnerablepeopleproject.com) and the Movie to Movement program responsible for much pro-life filmmaking. I encourage you to all look up the short film (15 minutes) Crescendo. Jason Jones personally shared Crescendo with the UN General Assembly as one of its producers and it truly provides an opportunity to meaningfully share the pro-life message even with “pro-choicers”.
