Wayne Apr 2022

Hello Pro-life Heroes,

First, we give thanks for all churches who hosted LIFESPAN’s 33rd Annual Baby Shower on March 13 and subsequent weekends as well as all the generous supporters who donated new and gently used baby items or gift cards. Those donations are most appreciated by the local pregnancy help centers who partner with LIFESPAN for the Baby Shower. Thank you as well to anyone who attended or encouraged attendance at the 2022 Be the Change pro-life youth conference on Friday, March 11 and to Divine Child for hosting.

Second, we continue to accept applications for the position of the next Wayne Chapter Youth Director. If you know someone looking to become more involved in the pro-life movement, enjoys working with children, and desires a rewarding part-time position, please invite them to apply or to call the Wayne Chapter office for more information. Our office phone number is 734-422-6230 and e-mail resumes and inquiries to tpruse@milifespan.org.

As time flies by, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are just around the corner. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8 and we will again be selling the beautiful live carnations from the same supplier we used in 2021. Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19 and we will again sell chocolate bars. Please call our office between now and Friday, April 22 to place an order for Mother’s Day carnations. As the flowers arrive fresh at our office on Saturday, May 7 for pick-up, it is advised that church representatives line up a couple volunteers to help tie ribbons on the flowers. Plan to bring a bucket to hold the flowers in water between pick-up and distribution of the flowers at your church.

We also realize that many Church Representatives have difficulties obtaining volunteers or are finding Mother’s Day and/or Father’s Day sales too taxing at their current stage in life. There is another excellent option that several churches implemented in 2021. We have an ample number of small plastic baby bottles that can be conveniently handed out to community members and then returned at a later date or that can be set out in church for one or more weekends. In 2021, one church even passed out bottles on Mother’s Day and recollected them on Father’s Day. Quite honestly, a couple of churches brought in more donations with a baby bottle campaign than they have in past Mother’s Day or Father’s Day sales.

We wish you all a joyful, blessed Easter Season!

Yours in LIFE,

Timothy Pruse

Wayne County Chapter Director
