Oakland/Macomb Jun 2022

Hi All,

That strange, bright, warm, lovely light in the sky is the sun!!!  It has returned and is warming our world. I know it is supposed to rain on the weekend, but let’s enjoy it while it is here.

Aside from a huge thank you for all the work you did with the carnations, the biggest thing on our plate right now, and probably until the end of June, is the abortion petition drive being sponsored by Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Naral etc., etc—all those groups who think that the only way women (which they have trouble defining) can succeed in our world is on the backs of their dead babies.  I know that is harsh, but that is what they are saying.  In order for a woman to be “free” to do what she desires; she must be free to abort her child/ren at any time in pregnancy and for no particular reason. We have been trying to get as much information into your hands as possible so that you can encourage everyone you know to avoid signing the Reproductive Freedom for All petition.  If placed on the November ballot and passed into law, it will amend the Michigan State Constitution to permit totally unlimited, unrestricted, and unregulated abortion.  They proponents have literally unlimited funding for their efforts (petition circulators are paid $26.00 per hour).  They are anxious to get this measure as an amendment before the United States Supreme Court officially, overturns Roe v Wade.  If the Roe decision is overturned, the issue goes back to each individual state for the citizens of that state to vote on it.  The petition proponents want their measure passed so that Michigan will not be able to have such a vote.

I believe that the” leaking” of the possible decision to overturn Roe v Wade was planned and designed to create the kind of unrest we have seen.  Screaming marchers, people harassing the residences of the Supreme Court Justices (which violates Federal Law 1507—but no one seems inclined to prosecute the people violating that law), stealing of tabernacles, spray painting and bombing pregnancy help centers, disrupting church services.  Those who participate in such activities seem to believe that they can stir up anti-life feelings and make the Justices change their minds.  I pray it is having just the opposite effect.

Over the years I have often used the image of prolifers climbing a never-ending hill to achieve respect and dignity and protection to all human life.  In the coming weeks that hill may seem higher than ever.  But know this—we are well practiced at hill climbing and we will reach the summit!

Please call the office with any questions, go to (supportmiwomenandchildren.org) for materials and always call our office, 248-816-1546 for assistance.  All the priests in Michigan have been informed of this situation and provided with information to share with their congregations.  If your pastor needs more or different information, please contact us.

Father’s Day is this month.  We had carnations for Mother’s Day as a “thank you “for Life.  Order your candy bars for dads as soon as possible because we all know “life is sweet—thanks Dad!” Love Life, Diane, and Lynn
