Hello Pro-life Heroes,
It is hard to fathom, but we are already almost at the end of 2023. Life Chain, CIDER Walk, the Pro-Life Legislative Luncheon, Respect Life Month, and other October events are in the books once again.
Many of you personally know Pat Holscher very well and we offer our condolences after her passing from this earthly life on October 16. We promise to follow in Pat’s footsteps in the Wayne Chapter office to the best of our abilities. Pat’s funeral is at St. Genevieve Catholic Church on Saturday, October 28 at 10 am. Pat’s visitation is Friday, October 27 from 3-8 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. There is a Rosary service at 7 p.m. and we hope to have a strong showing of Church Representatives at this service since the funeral is at the same time as the Pro-Life Legislative Luncheon. As our membership continues to age, we want to focus on expanding membership in 2024. A copy of the new member letter sent out at the end of September is included inside these Church Notes. Please post the message in your community and invite any pro-lifers who are not yet LIFESPAN members to join for 2024! Current LIFESPAN members will receive a 2024 Membership Renewal letter this month as well.
Finally, we plan to call a Wayne Chapter Church Representative meeting early in 2024. Most likely on a Saturday in February, we will gather and discuss opportunities and issues you, our Representatives, are seeing in your own churches and communities. We last held a Church Rep meeting in 2022 and it was an excellent and fruitful conversation, although only a fraction of Church Reps attended. With the way we are outnumbered in Michigan, grieving the evil visited upon us by the 2022 election, and seeing reduced participation in LIFESPAN events and membership, it is very important for as many Church Reps as possible to meet and discuss where we are currently and where we can best make an impact in the future.
