LIFESPAN REPRESENTATIVE MEMO, MAY, 2024
Hi All!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are mothers. Mothers come in all shapes and sizes, and they “mother” biological children, adopted children, extended family children and they may be moms, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts, stepmoms, foster moms, and “neighborhood” moms, but they all have one thing in common—they love their children, and accept the joys, sorrows, disappointments and achievements of their children with hearts full of love. So, let’s shout it out– HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
This is the May mailing but you will receive it before the 1st of the month so I will remind you about ordering carnations if you will be offering them—as soon as possible. The volunteer luncheon is the Sat. the 20th at the Grand Tavern Restaurant in Troy and if you have not let me know you are coming, please do. The annual dinner is May 7th, we still have some room so if you want to come, please call me-248-816-1546.
I am including the order sheet for Father’s Day candy. Some of you have already responded but the order form has all the information I need on it.
On a more somber note, the upcoming election promises to make this a rather contentious summer. If pro-life issues come up in your area and you need information on life topics, don’t hesitate to call us.
If your faith community is holding a summer fair or festival, would it be possible to have a Lifespan table there? If so, we can provide all the information you could want. Let us know.
Our recent Be the Change event for high school and college students was a GREAT success. The speakers were terrific, and everyone had high praise for the event. We will have it again next year so please keep it in mind for your youth ministers. The tentative date is March 1, 2025

May 18, 19 Right to Life-LIFESPAN Abortion and Slavery
History is a funny thing. As a nation, slavery was an ugly stain on our culture. Oddly enough, many of the words and sentiments that sought to approve slavery in our nation can be applied to the ugly stain of abortion. For example, regarding slavery: no one is forcing you to have slaves. Regarding abortion: mind your own business. Just as we found slavery to be unacceptable, so must we find abortion unacceptable—because such casual disregard for human life IS our business.
