Hi All,
You all know I send this mailing in the middle of the month before the notes are to be used so while the heading says April, it is still March and there was snow on the ground this morning! Happy Spring!!!!
Be The Change is at the top of the list this month. I am attaching the flier for it and ask that you see if it can get it into your bulletins, go to your youth minister, and get posted where folks can see it.
The dinner is coming up faster than you think (May 7th) so please call and reserve your place.
If your faith community is having a “fair” this summer, please ask if we can have an informational table to spread the pro-life word.
I sure hope you can come to the Volunteer Luncheon on April 20th. It is the only time we can all get together and share successes and failures and share ideas and, not least of all, Lifespan can thank you for all the time and energy you put into helping us. We could not do it without you!
The election is on everyone’s mind and just a reminder to you, Lifespan Ed Fund is a 501©3 organization and we cannot endorse candidates for political office. If we are called and asked, we can explain what the National Right to Life has sent to us, but we cannot say this guy is pro-life and that guy is not or vote for her, not for him.
Ads. Ads. Ads—the reason I am so frequently asking you to seek some new ads is because these help to defray the cost of the Resource Book, and the dinner and also function as a way to find pro-life businesses and services.
One more thing to keep in mind for the not so far distant future-euthanasia, doctor assisted suicide, aid in dying—call it what you like. We will soon find it on one of our ballots. We have great resources to provide discussion on this topic. I have found that folks are reluctant to talk about this, but I would be happy to come to a meeting and discuss end of life issues. I know it is touchy, but let’s face it—we will all have to make those decisions at some point.

April 6, 7 Right to Life-LIFESPAN Be the Change
This is the last week to register for the Be the Change event (April 12 and/or 13). Our speakers will provide information and strategies for telling the pro-life story to young people from 7th grade through college. There are two locations, one in Oakland County and one in Wayne County. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to tell the pro-life story in a calm, non-confrontational way. April 13,14 Right to Life-LIFESPAN Abortions at the Drug Store
Records show that approximately 60% of abortions are now done by way of the abortion pills. This method does not provide for in person medical assessment before taking the pills or medical support after taking the pills. Women, and unfortunately young girls, have easy access to the pills at Walgreens or CVS with a prescription from a provider who may or may not have ever seen her. The dangers are obvious—the baby’s life is taken, and the mother is left to fend for herself if something goes wrong. For more information, please call the LIFESPAN office-248-816-1546.
April 20,21 Right to Life-LIFESPAN Celebrate Life Dinner
Frank Pavone, president of Priests for Life. will be the guest speaker at Right to Life-LIFESPAN’s Celebrate Life Dinner and Silent Auction, on May 7th at the San Marino Club in Troy. The dinner will be a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner, spend time with friends, find new treasures and, and last but not least, hear our speaker tell us how to protect mothers and their babies from abortion. While this is a fund raiser for LIFESPAN’s continuing work, there is no charge for the dinner. Please call the LIFESPAN office for reservations, 248-816-1546.
April 27, 28 Right to Life-LIFESPAN What are We?
We hear a great deal about how a fetus is not a baby, an embryo is not human, human life does not really begin until we are born. The one that seems silliest of all is “the thing that is in a pregnant woman’s uterus is just a clump of cells.” Those holding to that notion do not seem to understand that that clump of cells has arms, legs, beating hearts, and a brain that functions —-we are all “clumps of cells”!!!!! Try as hard as they can, you cannot change biology. Everything begins at the beginning, and in the case of human life, at fertilization.
