LIFESPAN OAKLAND/MACOMB REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: OCTOBER 2019

Hi All!

Somehow when we turn the calendar page to Sept, it seems to me Mother Nature says, “Ok, time to turn off summer”, and the weather gets cold—fast!

Bus registration is ongoing.  Please be sure that your youth ministers are aware of registrations and deadlines.

Michigan Nurses for Life conference on Medical and Ethical Issues Today is Oct. 19th.  You do not need to be a health care professional to attend. See attached.

LIFESPAN’s annual prolife luncheon is also on Oct. 16th.  See attached.

A word about Christmas Cards.  We have a rather large number of unsold cards from previous years. This year we will be offering them as “favorites from previous years”, as well as one new card, the smaller size,  The “favorites “will be offered at a reduced price ($10) and the small cards will remain at $7.00.  If you are a card seller, or want to be one, please let me know!  Christmas cards have historically been our biggest fundraiser.  Unfortunately, people are sending fewer cards or are choosing to have picture of their kids, dog, and front door or Christmas decorations with a message of “Season’s Greetings”.  Somehow that does not seem to reflect “The Reason for the Season” but that is what we are facing.  If you have not done the Christmas cards before, please consider it this year.  We need the funds the cards contribute to continue our work.

Please try to attend the Annual Pro-Life Luncheon on Oct. 16.  I know it is a rather long way to go, but it is always a special event and needs our support.

If you would like to be part of the planning committee for our 50th Anniversary dinner, please call our office.  This is a real milestone for LIFESPAN and for all those who have worked so hard over the years to secure respect and protection for all human life.  We could really use some folks to make phone calls and who would not be reluctant to ask for funding for the dinner.

There is a special message from Karen Patrosso, director of WEE CARE attached to this mailing.  She is asking that you remember WEE CARE and the moms and babies it serves with your Christmas giving trees.  I wish you could all visit the WEE CARE office and see the wall of pictures of beautiful babies and their moms  that WEE CARE has helped and the beautiful letters these moms write when thanking us—and you—for helping them.  It makes you smile!!

Love Life!

Diane, Lynn and Maria
