Please note a couple of important events that will be planned this summer. Our 3rd Annual Links for Life Golf Outing takes place on Friday, August 18. To sign up as a foursome or individual to golf or to inquire about Sponsorship opportunities, e-mail Tim at tpruse@milifespan.org or call the office. Sometime in July, we will launch the Respect Life Raffle. The Raffle offers three prizes for winning tickets: $2500, $1500, and $500. All revenue from the raffle will go to support LIFESPAN, Inc our 501c4 political lobbying arm, which was depleted by the campaign against Proposal 3 in 2022. The winning tickets will be drawn at our 2023 Legislative Luncheon on Saturday, October 28. This year’s Luncheon will take place at Burton Manor in Livonia. Frank Pavone headlines and we expect tickets to go fast, so please call Pam at the office at 734-422-6230 or e-mail wcdr@rtl-lifespan.org to order luncheon tickets. Raffle tickets will be mailed to all Church Representatives, but please contact us for more as needed!
We are now pleased to introduce our new Wayne Youth Director Kathryn Priddy:
Hi, my name is Kathryn Priddy, and I am the new Youth Director for Wayne County. I grew up in South Carolina and got my degree in Religious Studies from Winthrop University. Ultimately, I moved to Michigan about two years ago and got a job as a youth minister at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Some people ask me how I could trade the weather there for Michigan winters, but honestly, I prefer the weather here. Living in South Carolina was like living in a soup; I would rather freeze! I enjoy drawing with pencils or my art tablet in my free time. I’d say animals are my favorite subject matter simply because of all their different forms; each one is a new challenge.
It’s exciting to be working here at LIFESPAN because while many in my home state are appalled by Michigan’s abortion laws and are quite frankly perturbed at how such laws could pass, I get to see and work with the many good people who think likewise and are willing to speak out and fight against these laws.
Kathryn just started in June and will begin reaching out to Youth Ministers, schools, collegians, high school students, and parents very soon! Welcome, Kathryn!
