Youth Outreach Nov 2022

To all students, parents, young adults, group leaders, teachers, administrators, principals, vice principals, campus ministers, youth ministers, directors of religious education, deacons, priests, pastors, and everyone else who receives the monthly Youth Mailing:

The day after the election…A message from Diane Fagelman, President of Right to Life – LIFESPAN:

Michigan is now the killing fields of the United States.  Tuesday’s vote has given Michigan more permissive abortion laws than Roe v Wade ever did, and this state now has the most permissive abortion regulations of any other state.  We at RTL-LIFESPAN are disappointed but not defeated.  RTL-LIFESPAN will continue to work for all Life, born and pre-born.  We will continue to educate on the real harm these new laws will do to women. We will continue to help moms and their newborns.  We will continue to educate our youth about the pitfalls of a culture of death movement.  Huge amounts of outside money was spent to change our Constitution which now will not protect our most vulnerable.  It is up to all pro-lifers to stay strong and seek to protect all Michigan citizens.  RTL-LIFESPAN will continue our work no matter how many obstacles are put in our way.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in No on Prop 3 info nights all over the Metro Detroit area, got the word out by talking to family and friends, going door to door knocking (over 600,000 voters were reached through this campaign!), making phone calls, using social media, sending information through email and regular mail about the terrible dangers of Prop 3 and what it would mean.  A lot of praying, fasting, and educating!  We did it together!  And, will keep doing all we can to change hearts and minds, one person at a time!

Moving forward…We are now finalizing the plans for two buses to be on the LIFESPAN “Movement in Motion” Youth Bus Trip to DC in January for the Post-Roe March for Life.  Bus 1 will leave from Clinton Township and Bus 2 will leave from Allen Park.  So far we have students, parents, and chaperones from Chesterton Academy, some college students, and a high school student on Bus 1, and students, parents, and chaperones from St. Francis Cabrini and St. Francis de Assisi/St. Hedwig in Detroit on Bus 2.  Please email me at oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org if you want to hop on one of these buses.  I will let you know if there is still room when you contact me!  The cost is $175.00 for Bus 1 (no meals) and $190.00 for Bus 2 (two Continental breakfasts).  The buses leave early Thursday morning January 19th and get back home in the early evening of Saturday, January 21st.

The March for Life route will be different in 2023!  Instead of going to the US Supreme Court, they will go to the US Capitol.  And, for those of you who are Chosen fans, the actor who plays Jesus – Jonathan Roumie – will be a main speaker at the outdoor Rally before the March!   I think that is pretty cool!

I have attached the current Pregnancy Help Center list for you to keep on hand as a reference in case you come across a mom in need of help.  I keep one in my purse and in my car.
