Youth Outreach May 2021

We hope you were able to participate in the National Pro-Life T-Shirt day in April!  If you did and would like us to share your thoughts and experience on that day and share pictures of you and your friends dressed in pro-life shirts, please send them along to Lynn Gura at oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org and put: “T-SHIRT DAY” in the subject line. We will put things in our June Newsletter!

Maria Vitale, who has been an office assistant at the Oakland/Macomb Chapter office for the last four years, has moved on to another chapter in her life, furthering her education in college and working in closer proximity to her home.  This amazing young woman has been a big part of organizing the Movement in Motion Youth Bus Trip during the time she has been here and she will be missed a great deal.  We wish her well in her future endeavors and look forward to seeing her at our events in the years ahead.

Have you heard about the Protect Life Michigan Internship Program that runs from June 14th-July 23rd?  As this semester of school is drawing to a close, it is something we wanted to pass along to you!  It is focused on High School Juniors through College Seniors who live in Michigan and are interested in working in the pro-life movement after graduation.  Application deadline is May 14th.  Got to the link for more information: www.protectlifemi.org/intensive (see flier attached).

LIFESPAN’s 2000 Crosses Project

Did you know LIFESPAN has 2000 crosses that several churches and school groups register with us each year to display them on their church and school lawns?  It has a powerful impact on those who put the crosses up and those who pass by.  It is a visual memorial to unborn babies who are aborted each day in the United States.  Most of the time, these precious little ones do not get a proper burial or marker on a grave.  We feel that this is one way we can remember them. The project is a great way to get many people of various ages involved in a group pro-life activity.  For more information call the Oakland/Macomb Chapter office at 248-816-1546 or email us at oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org and put “2000 Crosses” in the subject line.  If needed, we can provide information to you, your church, and school to have available for anyone who is suffering from an abortion decision to get the help they need, like Project Rachel and the Silent No More Awareness Program.  Whether its something that happened recently or ten or more years ago, there is hope and healing for women and men.

LIFESPAN’s Legislative Luncheon is back and titled “In Defense of Life”!  It will be held on Saturday, June 19th at the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Hall in Redford.  Cost is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for student 21 and younger.  The keynote speaker is Bob Dutko, Christian apologist and nationally syndicated Radio Host (WMUZ 103.5 FM, weekdays 12-4 p.m.).  Legislative speaker TBD.  See the flier attached for more details.
