Youth 06-2025

YOUTH UPDATE for Parents, Junior High and High School Students, College Students, Young Adults, Youth Group Leaders/Pro-Life Clubs, School Administrations, Church/Parish Administrations, Pastors, Deacons, Priests, and all others who work with young people:

It was an amazing LIFESPAN Celebrate Life Dinner on Tuesday, May 6th with guest speaker, Rachel Campos-Duffy!  She shared a brief background of how she met her husband, (Transportation Secretary) Sean Duffy, on a spin off show of MTV’s Road Rules All Stars, and then shared how they were the only reality t.v. show couple to have nine incredible children together! Their youngest daughter, Valentina (who has Down’s Syndrome), is such an important part of all their lives and has taught them many lessons about love and life!  She is truly a gift to them and all who meet her!  Rachel then focused her talk on femininity and womanhood and motherhood.  It was a really a fantastic talk coming from her heart!  There were around 670 guests at the dinner, and between the delicious meal, great conversations, really neat Silent Auction items, the opportunity to meet and get a picture with Rachel before the dinner, her talk, and having so many young people helping out that evening, it was quite a satisfying, successful evening!

For those students and young adults who are in 11th-12th grade, up to 25 years old, if you are interested in the Protect Life Michigan Life Advocate Intensive Training (PLM LAI) that will take place in the Detroit area July 24-26 or in Grand Rapids August 7-9, please let me know.  Email me back at oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org and put LAI Training in the subject line.  I will send you the information you will need to sign up, and if you need help paying for the training, LIFESPAN has sponsorships available.  We have sponsored many young people for 10+ years.  They have all been very impressed with the pro-life apologetics style training that PLM offers!  You can see the announcement for the training attached (share with others) and read comments from some of the young adults we sponsored for the training last August.

Stay tuned for more details about the upcoming Michigan March for Life in November (we have buses picking up in Shelby Township, Lake Orion, Livonia, and Novi, currently waiting for approval for a Troy and/or Royal Oak pick up, and a Plymouth pick up) – cost is $35.00 per person, and the Movement in Motion March for Life Trip to DC in January (we have buses picking up in Auburn Hills and in Sterling Heights, currently waiting for approval for a Plymouth pick up) – cost to be determined.  Plus, more details will be shared about our Be the Change program in March (we have two host locations – one in Plymouth and one in Sterling Heights) – cost to be determined.

And, there is the National Day of Remembrance in September and Life Chain in October to add to your calendar for upcoming pro-life activities!

Lynn
