Hello Pro-life Heroes,

Once again, we express gratitude to all those who will be involved in providing Luminaries for Life, volunteering at the Rose Mass, or traveling to the National March for Life this January! Put January 17 in your calendar for the annual Rose Mass and January 19 in your calendar as the day of the National March for Life and the coinciding installation of Luminaries for Life that evening.

Speaking of Church Reps and LIFESPAN Volunteers, we will be holding a Wayne Chapter Church Representative meeting on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10 am in the cafeteria at St. Michael Catholic School. in Livonia. We will gather and discuss opportunities and issues you, our Representatives, and volunteers, are seeing in your churches and communities. It is very important for as many Church Reps as possible to meet and discuss where we are currently and where we can best make an impact in the future. More details with be forthcoming.

As included in the Church Note for December 30-31, 2023, please join me in three New Year’s resolutions for 2024. (Many of you have long been following these resolutions of course!)

  1. Be sure to donate your treasure to or volunteer your time and talents at a problem pregnancy center in Metro Detroit. We all know they are under attack, both figuratively and literally, under current political conditions in Michigan. There are many options including AAA Pregnancy Center in Livonia, Lennon Center in Dearborn Heights, or the innovative new Heart of Christ Pro-Life Medical Clinic in Southwest Detroit.
  2. Force political, leaders, and adherents of pro-abortion culture to describe what they defend! Ask them, “Can you describe an abortion for me?”
  3. Vow to never be apologetic about your pro-life views. I am so sick of hearing otherwise great pro-life personalities preface articles and talks with statements such as, “Unlike some overly judgmental pro-lifers,” “Pro-lifers must be more sympathetic to women,” or similar disclaimers. Stop it! It plays right into pro-abortion propaganda which seeks to characterize pro-lifers as moralistic Pharisees out of touch with women amid unplanned pregnancies. This is utter nonsense! I don’t know about you, but every single person I have ever met active in the pro-life movement has a crystal-clear missionary focus on saving the lives of the preborn and protecting others targeted by the Culture of Death!

Ask pro-aborts to Describe what they Defend!

Yours in LIFE,

Timothy Pruse

Wayne County Chapter Director
