LIFESPAN WAYNE COUNTY CHAPTER REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: MARCH 2020
Hello, Champions !
PLEASE, PLEASE FORGIVE US FOR NOT GETTING A FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER OUT. MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE MISSED THE CHURCH NOTES WHICH SO MANY LOOK FORWARD TO READING AND GETTING. WE HAD SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES IN THE OFFICE COMPUTER. WE WERE ALSO BACKED UP WITH CHRISTMAS CARDS, LUMINARIES AND TRYING TO GET THINGS FIXED. WE STILL HAVE SOME MINOR CONCERNS, BUT WE HAVE OUR COMPUTER GUY ON IT. I AM TRULY SORRY AND FEEL TERRIBLE THAT THIS WAS A BURDEN ON SOME OF YOU.
We gave out approximately 1,600 luminaries, which was about the same number as the past year. Thank You all of the participating churches for their help.
The Rose Celebration at Our Lady of Good Counsel with Father Anthony was beautiful. Father did an outstanding job and he was impressed by the ceremony, which was his first ever. The event was well attended with over 200 participants again this year.
The New Fundraiser Dinner Dance was a big surprise with 100 people attending. A BIG Thanks to the AOH Hall (Ancient Order of Hibernians) in Redford and their staff for their donation to help us in our fundraiser and make our first year a success. We hope each year it will get bigger and better and you will think about attending. Our opening guest speaker was Councilman Scott Bahr of Livonia. He is a Pro-Life Champion and always has a great message about LIFE. He is a true solider and Christian Champion.
PLEASE-PLEASE CHECK YOUR MEMBERSHIP DATE RENEWAL. Ron (our Treasurer) and I have been working on a budget for 2020. We would like to present it to the board for approval, however we need an accurate account of current membership before we do so.
I have scheduled a Church Rep meeting for Thursday, March 26, from 7pm to 9pm. No location yet, but I will pass the location on soon. Please consider attending because we can use your input on many matters concerning the Chapter.
