Hi Folks,
Ok, if it is November, we need to anticipate snow but maybe we will be lucky and not have to shovel on Thanksgiving.
IF YOU ARE OFFERING CARDS TO YOUR FAITH COMMUNITY AND HAVE NOT SENT ME YOUR ORDER YET, PLEASE SEND IT!!!!
You will soon be hearing a lot about Lights for Life. Each year, Weingartz Garden Supply allows us to place a very tall artificial Christmas tree on their property on Grand River and I-275. We invite our friends to send the names of their loved ones that they would like to remember during the holiday season and we will “light a light” on the tree for that purpose. Any donation is appreciated. Attached is a flyer about Lights for Life
All the paper work for the 2020 bus trip has been submitted by our travelers and Lynn and Maria are busily putting passengers on buses and making sure that this trip will be the best yet. Getting all these folks to and from Washington DC is a HUGE undertaking and the cost to our passengers never covers all the expenses. Look for a letter this month asking for help in providing a small donation for snacks, water and support for travelers seeking monetary assistance for the trip. Each year, our student travelers come home filled with enthusiasm for their pro-life work. It is truly a life changing event.
As you all know, 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of Right to Life-LIFESPAN. We still need volunteers to help with planning, set up and “fetching and carrying” all the little details involved in celebrating this event.
Don’t forget to post a flyer about our Christmas cards. There is still time to arrange for a date when you can offer them to your faith community.
On the 23rd we are having a used book sale, $10.00 per bag, at Angels, Saints and Stuff religious gift store. The owner of this lovely shop allows us to have a “used book store” within her store and we have a great selection of gently used books for the book sale. There might be a really good Christmas present in there for someone! 19223 Merriman Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Give us a call at the office for more details. 248-816-1546.
In our upcoming newsletter, you will find information on our BE THE CHANGE event with Ryan Bomberger from the Radiance Foundation. He will be doing two sessions for our young people on Feb.28, one in Oakland County in the morning and one on the west side in the afternoon. There will be a session for adults (21 and up) on Feb. 29th at Auburn Hills Christian Center. You will hear more about this in days to come but please be sure the flyers and information get to your youth ministers and, hopefully, an announcement for the adult session.
Please know that LIFESPAN gives thanks every day for our wonderful volunteers and helpers. Without the time, talents and treasure you share with us, we would be unable work for the protection of all life. Blessings to you on Thanksgiving.
Love Life!
Diane, Lynn and Maria
