Hi Folks,
First and foremost, Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! As you all know this greeting to you is coming in mid-April because I have to get this mailing to you now, for next month, so, Happy Mother’s Day again—hope the day is sunny and bright.
Well, the most important thing this month and next is the petition drive being pushed by the Reproductive Freedom for All group. Their goal is unlimited and unrestricted abortion as a constitutional right in our Michigan Constitution. Their workers, who area paid a goodly sum ($12-15/hour) are busily collecting signatures to get this awful legislation on the November 2022 ballot. Our governor, not to be outdone by RFFA, has asked the State Supreme Court to make unlimited abortion a right in the State Constitution. It would seem that these folks have never seen a pro-abortion issue they did not like.
It is really hard to understand why there is such a “push” for unlimited abortion. With all the technology we have, documenting the growth and development of each and every baby, there are still those who deny that he or she IS a baby, that he or she IS alive, and that a society that is willing to kill him or her at any stage of life, for any, or no reason, IS on a very perilous path. Equally confusing is that in Michigan the effort is to expand abortion while in other states, such as Oklahoma, abortion is totally banned except in certain medical emergencies. New life should be protected and respected regardless of where it is found!!!!
So, I am attaching another statement explaining the impact of this measure in bullet points. Use some or all of them when speaking with friends and family and let your pastors, service committees at your faith community see it—perhaps it will be food for a pro-life homily or bulletin article.
I am also attaching a photo of a poster we have had made. It is 11x 17 and suitable for putting on an easel in the church vestibule. Initially, I only ordered 12 of them. If you think you would like one, please let me know. If we need more, I can order more. We have also created stickers, suitable for the outside of any mail you send out with the same image. If you want some, let me know.
There is still time to order carnations if you like but do it quickly. Candy orders are still being accepted and, of course, Christmas Card orders, as soon as you can, so I know how many to order.
Love Life!
Diane and Lynn
