Hi Folks!
It is freezing cold outside! We have been spoiled by the relatively warm temperatures so far this winter. I could do without the snow however!
First, some sad news. My co-worker, Lynn Gura lost her mom early last week. Lynn was devoted to her mom and her passing, while not unexpected, is so very hard on those who loved her. Please remember Lynn, and her mom Marie in your prayers.
March brings our Baby Showers. I have attached a flyer and hope that you will be able to post it where others can see it. I don’t know if it is too late to register your faith community as a shower site, but if you think you want to, please call Chris at the main office. 1-734-524-0162.
Of course the main activity in the coming weeks is/will be the May 5th dinner. First let me tell you that reservations are quickly filling the room. Our absolute maximum capacity is 80 tables. We are over half that many already and our invitations have not yet gone out. If your faith community wants to reserve a table, or you and/or family want seats, don’t delay in calling me 248-816-1546.
As you probably know, we are not charging our guests for the dinner. However, we are making it very clear that this is a benefit dinner and will be asking for donations.
In order for us to not have to charge our guests, it is necessary to find several Major Donors who will meet the expenses of the dinner. So, if you know of anyone, or several anyones, who would like to help us, please have them call the office, 248-816-1546. As an organization, we have never funded our dinner like this before and we are all holding our breaths, hoping that prayer and boldness in asking will see positive results.
Not only is this our 50th Anniversary dinner but it is also a Raffle year. A $50.00 raffle ticket could see your bank account increase by $10,000. I have attached a flyer about the raffle—please share it.
We also need ads for the Resource Book. Anyone who has attended our dinners in the past knows how very impressive our book is. I am attaching a form to place an ad in the book. If your faith community is not already represented in the book, perhaps you could pass the form on to which ever commission could approve an ad.
Since this message is printed in advance for the next month, I cannot give any results on the Be The Change event scheduled for the end of February. However, registrations are going well and you can still register if you would like to attend. I have attached a flyer again, just please don’t include it in any March, 2020 postings.
Lastly, please pray for the success of our dinner and that we will find a sufficient number of Major Donors to make the evening a wonderful success.
