LIFESPAN OAKLAND/MACOMB REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: JUNE 2019

Hi Folks,

One 82 degree day does not a summer make, but didn’t it feel good!!!

Once again, thanks to all who attended our dinner on May 7th.  It was absolutely amazing to see so many of you there!!  Next year will be LIFESPAN’s 50th anniversary (no, I did not think I would still climbing this mountain when I started my pro-life journey 50 years ago!  We were so naïve, we thought we would prevail in a matter of months.  After all, who in their right mind could be ok with killing unborn babies???).  I am asking you for help in a couple of areas.

1) Please put your thinking caps on, ask your friends and relatives, who you would like to see as our speaker for this special day.  We like to “dream big” but the reality is very good speakers on our issue are very expensive.  On the other hand, if you know someone who has a spare $10,000 and would like to pay for a speaker, by all means, LET ME KNOW.

2) Would you or someone you know like to be on the planning committee for the event (May 5, 2020)?

3) Please start now thinking of businesses and individuals and churches, etc that would like to take an ad in our resource book.  It is not too early!

I am attaching the order form for the candy bars one more time.  If you want candy bars for Father’s Day, please place your order as soon as you can (I know I have a date on the form but earlier is better for me.

Thanks to all who helped with Carnations as well.  I really like this event—especially when a little child puts 7 pennies on the table for a “flower for my mom”.

This year the silent auction and gift card tree (at the dinner) were big hits.  There were several remarks about how nice all the auction items were and how well displayed.  Thanks go to Karen and Chris for all their hard work.

I am sure there is something I am forgetting to mention but it will have to wait until next year

As we approach Memorial Day, remember, Freedom isn’t free, we must earn it and protect it.

Love Life!

Diane
