LIFESPAN OAKLAND/MACOMB REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: JULY 2018
Hi Folks!
It is difficult to see properly to send this email because those awful white fuzzy things that come off of cottonwood trees have my turned my eyeballs into road maps and they itch like crazy. At least they are a sign that summer is almost here and that is a good thing!
We had lots of smiling moms and dads in our area recently. The moms seemed to love their carnations and the dads, of course, loved their candy bars. Thanks to all who participated.
July and August are usually pretty quiet in the office and we use this time to start planning for the fall activities. I am including a SAVE THE DATE flyer so you can see what will be coming in September and beyond.
One thing that is ongoing is our bus trip to Washington DC for the March for Life. Lynn is busy planning and scheduling so that it will be another great experience for our travelers. Attached is a flyer for the trip. Please share it with your youth ministers so they can tell their young people about it when youth groups start meeting again in the fall.
How many of you have heard of “painting parties”. Paints, canvases, examples and whatever else you need are provided by the instructors and you let your imaginations help you create your own personal work of art. We are considering planning this kind of party, but need to know what interest there is out there. Please talk to church members, friends and families and let me know if there is any interest. We would need about 20 people.
In September, Michigan Nurses for Life will hold their annual conference and the topic is the Abortion Pill Reversal procedure. Yes, if a woman changes her mind after taking the first of two abortion pills, she may still be able to save her baby. Those who support abortion are trying very hard to say that this does not work—that offering this CHOICE is harmful to women. Well, first of all, it is not harmful and secondly, I thought abortion supporters were all about CHOICE. You do not have to be in the medical field to attend this conference. All are welcome and the information is so very important.
Believe it or not, we are in the process of selecting our Christmas cards for 2018. As soon as we know, we will let you know.
