LIFESPAN OAKLAND/MACOMB REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: DECEMBER 2019
Hi Folks,
This is being written on Nov 11th, Veteran’s Day and the first snow fall of the year.
First of all, thanks to everyone who has served our country so we can enjoy the freedoms your sacrifice provided for us. Blessings on you and your families.
Secondly, have you ever noticed that with the first snowfall, everyone in Michigan has to re-learn how to drive in the snow? There are so many folks out there who drive like they have never seen snow before! Everybody be careful!!!
Please consider helping in some capacity or another with our 50th Anniversary Dinner on
May 5th. We are hoping for a very exciting evening and there are always lots of little things that need attention. Give us a call at the office and let us know if you have a little extra time.
The reduced price of the Christmas cards seems to be increasing sales this year. If you can get a notice of their availability in your church paper, it would help sell even more.
As a tax exempt organization, LIFESPAN is prohibited from recommending or endorsing candidates for political office. We can however ask these candidates questions and reprint their answers in our newsletter to inform our LIFESPAN members. We will be doing that again this year. As all of you know, this year is critical for the pro-life movement and it is important that we receive as much information as possible to be able to make an informed decision when we vote.
Speaking of information, our Governor is planning to introduce legislation here in Michigan that would remove all laws regarding abortion. There would be no restrictions of any kind and abortion would be available for all nine months of pregnancy. We would have the same laws, or lack thereof, as New York and Illinois. There would be abortion up to the moment of birth and no requirement to treat a baby born alive after abortion. Sad news to consider, especially when we are about to celebrate the birth of the Author of all Life.
We wish you a Christmas filled with family, friends, joy, peace and all the blessings the season can bring.
Diane, Lynn and Maria
