Sharing your pro-life views at school can be intimidating, especially if you try to do it alone. One event that really brings people together for life is Life Chain! Your schools or churches may be hosting a location for this event. Check out the attached flyer to see if there is one near you.
Another unifying event is the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity. This is a very impactful event where you take a vow of silence with your fellow classmates and friends. By giving up your voice, you represent the 3,000 voices lost to abortion every day. Place tape across your mouth or wear a red armband to show you are participating. Just because you are physically giving up your voice doesn’t mean you are giving up your voice on social media. Share your support be using these hashtags: #ProLifeDayOfSilentSolidarity #miLIFESPAN #GENERATIONTRUTH
And, there is also National Pro-Life Chalk Day! Whether you’re an artist or someone who just wants to make a statement, this is the event for you! Take to the streets, schools, college campuses, and sidewalks everywhere to write pro-life messages and slogans. This event is a wonderful way to draw attention to pro-life facts and shed light on ways to find help. If you need chalk, contact Anne Marie Morin at 734-855-0464 or youth@milifespan.org
Don’t forget that March for Life registration is open! Registration ends on October 31st. This will be the 47th annual March for Life, taking place on January 24th. In addition to participating in the march to the US Supreme Court, we will be visiting the US Capitol Building and Arlington National Cemetery. Contact Lynn Gura at 248-907-4806 or oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org
Maria and Monica Vitale, LIFESPAN members and college students, attended the Ignite and Equip Event in Lansing hosted by Protect Life Michigan. We will share a summary of their experience at the event in the next Youth Mailing.
There is a Teen Help Card sample attached that was recently updated. The card has important phone numbers on it for teens to carry in their wallets, hand out to others, and/or to keep at school offices, parish/church offices, etc. We have printed business card size cards at the Oakland/Macomb County office. If you want some of the cards, please contact Lynn Gura at 248-907-4806 or email her at oakmac@rtl-lifespan.org and she will mail you some.
