November 2016 – LIFESPAN Youth Mailing
GENERATION TRUTH – All youth, college students and young adults, parents, teachers, principals, campus ministers, youth group leaders, pro-life group leaders, deacons, pastors and priests, and all others who work with young people.
Dear Friends of Life…young people, parents, college students and young adults, teachers, principals, youth ministers and group leaders, deacons, priests, pastors:
Well, the Presidential election is now over, Thanksgiving is this Thursday, Advent starts on the weekend and then Christmas will follow next month!
After that, 2017 will begin and the wheels on our LIFESPAN buses will get revved up and ready to roll out so we can go to the annual March for Life in Washington DC which will take place on Friday, January 27th, 2017, one week after Mr. Donald J. Trump will be taking office as our 45th President of the United States. Perhaps our new President and/or our new VP will greet us through Skype or another means the day of the March, letting us know they are supporting our being there for the largest annual Pro-Life event in the country. I have been attending the March for Life about 14 years now, and it will be so good to hear encouraging words once again after much silence for the last eight years for us while praise went to the pro-abortion industry from our leadership.
We still have seven seats left on one of our buses that is picking up at St. Mary Queen of Creation in New Baltimore. And, we have a total of ten seats left on two buses picking up at Madonna University in Livonia as well as up to eight seats left on a bus that is picking up at the San Marino Club in Troy.
The dates of our trip: Leaving the evening of Thursday, January 26th, arriving back home the morning of Sunday, January 29th. See the attached revised fliers. Note: There is a slight price difference in the bus cost between the bus leaving from New Baltimore and the two leaving from Troy and Livonia. Plus, the buses leaving from Troy and Livonia include a breakfast on Friday morning in the cost of the trip.
Our “Movement in Motion” Youth Bus Trip is focused on young people ages 12 to 18 (Jr. High and High School), 19-24 (college or out of college).
We will stay at host churches the night after the March and on Saturday we will do some touring in the area that will include our important first stop at the Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Interesting how it all happens as the buses start to fill up with people who return and new people coming on board with us! We welcome new groups from Trinity Baptist Church (Grand Rapids), a mom and two of her daughters from Divine Child, students and chaperones from St. Catherine of Sienna Academy, and students and chaperones from Our Lady of Good Counsel. Returning groups include Shrine H.S., Our Lady of the Lakes H.S., Regina H.S., U of D Jesuit H.S., Brother Rice H.S., St. Mary’s Royal Oak, St. Anastasia, Ss. Cyril and Methodius, FISH (homeschool group), Immaculate Conception (Ira), St. Christopher, Our Lady on the River, St. Edward (Lakeport), St. Mary Queen of Creation, and St. Paul of Tarsus. And, for the first time we have gone across country with a student from TX registering to be on the bus with her two MI cousins, and international with an exchange student from Poland and an exchange student from Tibet. How exciting!
Thank you to all those who registered for the trip already and thank you to all those who will still register by December 5th! I look forward to traveling with you and marching with you on January 27th!
Life issues, religious freedom, the US Supreme Court, and protecting our country were the top issues in
this election most critical election.
March for Life Washington, DC 2015 – over 500,000 people in attendance (young people everywhere!)
November is Adoption Awareness month!
There are some article links below if you want to read them and pass along to others through social media and email…also attached are three fact sheets from National Right to Life for you to read and pass along. You will be hearing more in the very near future about the US Supreme Court replacement(s) and legislation that will work to limit abortion after 20 weeks throughout the country. These things will happen to get us in the right direction again.
We are in need of volunteers to help sort, organize and sell books during the hours of operation. If that is something you would be interested in doing, please contact the main office (number is on the flier). : )
I will talk to you again before Christmas and New Year’s!
