Hello, Everyone!
As we start out this fall season, we are so grateful to all of you! The desperate plea that I made for memberships and donations is definitely helping, but we have a long way to go to getting back on “safe” financial ground. Every single membership and dollar to the Wayne County Chapter helps! Baby bottle drives, donations from Christian Service and individual donations can help us continue our work.
Enclosed you will find the November Church Notes and all of the accompanying fliers to advertise upcoming LIFESPAN events. If you need additional fliers printed, please call our office!
UPCOMING EVENTS, FUNDRAISERS AND OPPORTUNITIES, we hope that you can participate in some, if not all:
- 2016 Entertainment Books: GREAT GIFT IDEA! The price has decreased from last year to $30 per set. Each set includes the 2016 E-Book and 2016 Premier Dining Book. If you have a smartphone, you can get additional savings. If you don’t have a smartphone, you can provide your registration number (on the cards) to your son/daughter, niece/nephew, grandchild, etc. and allow them to enjoy great savings right from their phone! This makes the Entertainment Books such a great thing—you (and maybe loved ones) get savings for places you are already going to and LIFESPAN raises some money to continue our work for LIFE! Also, if your church would be willing to take 10 sets of books to sell on consignment, it would really help us.
- LIFESPAN Christmas Cards are available! Please find a weekend or two (or more!) to offer our cards to your faith community. If you have never done this before, please consider giving it a try. There is no cost to your faith community; all cards come to you “on consignment”. It requires a few volunteers from your Respect Life committees, a couple of announcements in your church papers and one or two weekends after services. We need everyone’s help as this is one of our biggest fundraisers.
- Lights for Life: This is a great way to be a witness to LIFE and to also honor loved ones. Be sure to pass on this special Christmas opportunity to remember a loved one!
- Movement in Motion Bus Trip: The busses are filling up rapidly—if anyone is interest in going from your faith community, they need to call the office right away. Please let your Youth Ministers know about this wonderful opportunity for youth who are in grades 8-12 and college.
- LIFESPAN $10,000 Raffle: GREAT GIFT IDEA! Tickets are on sale NOW and will be sold until our Annual Dinner in May 2016. Only 500 tickets will be sold!
- LIFESPAN’s Resource Book: Believe it or not, it is not too soon to be thinking of our 2016 Resource Book. The book will again be updated and tons of current information will be added. Make sure that your faith community gets an ad in early! Also, this is a great time to get businesses that you frequent to take out an ad. The donations for ads are fully tax-deductible, so make sure to let businesses know that they can still get another deduction for the 2015 tax year! Our Resource Book is a valuable source of information and gets distributed throughout the Metro Detroit area, so it is a great place to advertise!
