LIFESPAN OAKLAND/MACOMB REPRESENTATIVE MEMO: APRIL 2018

Hi Folks, ok, enough with the snow.  It is time for Spring. We are turning the clocks ahead and the ducks have returned to Trombley’s pool cover!  Turn off the snow!!!

This month, the emphasis is on the Dinner!  May 8th at the San Marino Club in Troy.  We are lightening the mood a little with a comedian as our guest speaker.  We deal with such a serious subject that sometimes we need to step back and realize that a little laughter can raise our spirits and refresh our souls.

So, please invite all of your friends and families and fellow club members to come and maybe donate an auction item or a Tin Can Raffle item.  Just as a little tease, I happen to know that one of the auction items will be four tickets, plus parking, to a Red Wings game!   Remind your faith community administrator to take an ad in the Resource Book.  Do any of your relatives or friends own a business?  We would love for them to take an ad.  How about becoming a patron, or reserving a table at the dinner?

Our dinner is a most important activity for LIFESPAN.  It not only provides an informative and pleasant evening with friends but the proceeds allow us to continue to do the work of protecting Life.

Looking ahead, we are trying to decide on a family outing for our Generation Truth young people this summer.  I have attached a flyer with possible suggestions.  Please share it with your youth ministers.  We need to know what these great pro-life young people would like to do.

Since you should be receiving this mailing well before the 24th of March, let me remind you to send your RSVP about the Volunteer Luncheon. Your invitation, if you have not already received one in the mail, is attached to this email.

The LIFESPAN Garage Sale is scheduled for May 17-20.  I have attached a flyer that you can feel free to copy (you can copy any and all of the materials I send you) and distribute it to anyone interested.

We are looking for input on what activity we can plan for our young people and their families this summer.  I have attached a flyer with some suggestions.  Please share it with your Youth Ministers and anyone else you think might be interested.

Looking even farther ahead, Michigan Nurses for Life will be holding their annual conference in September.  The topic this year will be Abortion Reversal.  You don’t have to be a health care professional to attend—the subject is really exciting—and anyone can come.  More on this later.

Don’t forget the raffle!  You never know who the winner will be but it could be you—only if you buy a ticket. One of those tickets would look nice tucked into an Easter basket too. Even though Easter is a religious event for most of us, even my adult children who come for Easter Dinner look for that hidden basket with their favorite candy nestled in the “grass”.  It can be fun to be a kid again.

That’s it for now.  Dinner.  Raffle.  Ads.  Happy Easter!

Diane, Lynn and Maria
